From November 24 to December 5, 2025, Dr. Zuzanna Kłos-Adamkiewicz from the Department of Transport Management at the Institute of Management of the University of Szczecin (Poland) visited the Department of Sustainable Management.
The docent gave a series of 40 academic hours of lectures to first-year (TL25, TL25 E), second-year (TL24, TL24I), and third-year (TL23) students of the Transport Logistics (6531LX036) study program at the Faculty of Construction of Vilnius College. Students listened to interesting lectures on various topics: “Company organisation – advantages and disadvantages of using the Webfleet and Transtransport exchange portal”; “Calculating transport costs – basic principles and tools”; “General description of mobility management”; “Public transport – how to create useful tools for sustainable mobility in cities?”; “Walking and cycling – how to encourage different groups of people to use this type of mobility?”; “Street design – how to do it right?”; “Sustainable mobility campaigns – case studies and tools”; “What is sustainable development in transport?”; “Types of urban transport services and their role in local and regional development”; “Sustainable development and transport policy”; etc. Students also had the opportunity to learn about and work with the ArcGIS transport and mobility planning tool, Google Maps, Story Maps, and Goodloading tools.
On the last day of her visit, the lecturer led creative workshops for researchers. Lecturers and students from the Department of Sustainable Management learned how to use the Survey123 tool in scientific research.
The visiting scientist willingly participated in various events of the Faculty of Construction’s Science Week. On December 1, the guest from the University of Szczecin lit the Christmas tree together with the entire faculty community and communicated with faculty lecturers and students. Later, Dr. Zuzanna Kłos-Adamkiewicz visited the renovated faculty library and looked at the latest books there. The next day, the lecturer familiarized herself with the presentations of the results of stand-based research, which included research conducted by Indrė Sprogytė-Bredelienė, lecturer at the Department of Sustainable Management, together with her students. The researcher also participated in the Ciltem 2025 international scientific conference, where she listened to presentations on current research in the field of sustainable logistics.
The visit by the guest from the University of Szczecin was very useful due to this researcher’s academic experience in the fields of sustainable mobility, mobility, and sustainable transport. The visit was also important in terms of assessing the prospects for international cooperation. The lecturer has extensive experience in conducting international research, participating in projects, and collaborating with businesses, so it would be possible to conduct joint research that would contribute to the internationalization of studies and the development of TMTEP activities.
By communicating with a lecturer from the Department of Transport Management at the Management Institute of the University of Szczecin, students gained new experience, valuable professional knowledge, improved their practical skills, became familiar with innovative teaching methods integrating programs used in business enterprises, and strengthened their foreign language skills. Students will be able to apply the knowledge they have acquired in their final and coursework, in their research, and later in their practical work.
The visit was coordinated by Indrė Sprogytė-Bredelienė, lecturer at the Department of Sustainable Management.
We look forward to further successful cooperation and hope to see her again!
