The student conference “Construction and Logistics ’25: Science and Practice” brought together young researchers

On December 3, 2025, the annual student conference “Construction and Logistics ’25: Science and Practice,” bringing together students, lecturers, and researchers in the fields of construction engineering and transport logistics.

The aim of the conference was to encourage students’ scientific activities, present the latest research and innovations, and provide an opportunity to share experiences.

In her opening speech, Dr. Marija Vaičienė, Head of the Department of Construction Engineering, welcomed the conference participants, thanked the students for their efforts in conducting research and preparing presentations, encouraged them to continue improving and, together with business representatives, to strive to ensure that the innovative solutions proposed on the basis of the students’ research are implemented in companies.

The event was moderated by Danielius Jančiauskas and Artūras Leonaitis.

During the conference, more than ten presentations were given on topics relevant to the construction sector: safety in the construction sector, increasing energy efficiency through renovation, the use of construction waste, the application of sustainable building materials and BIM technologies. The most relevant topics in the logistics sector ranged from the development of electric vehicle infrastructure and the application of artificial intelligence in route planning to the regulation of multimodal transport.

Students actively participated in the event, giving presentations in both Lithuanian and English, guided by lecturers from the Faculty of Civil Engineering. After each presentation, insights and practical advice were shared, and students answered questions from their colleagues and lecturers.

At the end of the conference, it was emphasized that such events not only strengthen students’ research skills, but also contribute to closer cooperation between science and business. All prepared articles will be published in the conference proceedings.
