Aurelijus Vaškys, a lecturer at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, took part in the international academic conference ‘Transport Means 2026’

On 7–8 October 2026, Aurelijus Vaškys, a lecturer at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Vilnius College, took part in the 30th international scientific conference ‘Transport Means 2026’, held in Kaunas. Organised by Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), the event brought together researchers and specialists in the field of transport to discuss current issues relating to transport technology, infrastructure, safety and sustainable mobility. The conference examined issues relating to advanced and intelligent transport systems, infrastructure development, road safety, pollution reduction and transport system modelling.

In the ‘Sustainable Transport Solutions’ section, lecturer Aurelijus Vaškys delivered a presentation entitled ‘Trends in the Development of Combined Transport under Conditions of Uncertainty’. An article of the same title was authored by A. Vaškys, J. Ginavičienė, I. Sprogytė-Bredelienė, A. Špuraitė and J. Romeikienė. The topic of the paper is particularly relevant in the search for ways to integrate different modes of transport, increase the efficiency of freight transport and adapt to changing conditions in the transport sector.

The outcome of participating in the event was the presentation of the co-authors’ work to the international academic community and the acquisition of knowledge about the latest research in the field of transport. The insights gained at the conference can be applied in the teaching process by supplementing the course material with relevant examples from current research.

The article will be published in the proceedings of the 30th International Scientific Conference ‘Transport Means 2026’, published by KTU. This will contribute to the dissemination of the research findings and raise the profile of Vilnius College’s research activities.
